Rob Gear
Director, corporate finance
Rob Gear is a corporate finance director with over 17 years’ experience in corporate finance advising on an extensive range of transactions, including disposals, acquisitions, management buy-outs and equity & debt fundraising. He is also responsible for carrying out due diligence assignments on behalf of acquirers, be it a corporate or financial investor.
Prior to joining PKF Francis Clark in 2013, Rob worked at HSBC Investment bank in the City and spent 7 year in EY’s corporate finance team working on energy and infrastructure transactions within both the private and public sectors. Rob qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006 having gained experience in audit and tax.
Rob has also worked in industry as Group Financial Controller of a £400m turnover company overseeing the finance team and has a direct experience of understanding the implications a transaction has on owners / management time, both before and post completion. He is therefore able to provide proactive and tailored advice to support owner / managers often going through a ‘once in a life time’ experience.
Away from the office, Rob enjoys spending time with his young family and when time allows playing golf and cricket and following Exeter Chiefs. Rob holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Economics and Finance and is ACA qualified.
