Mark Bishop

Partner, VAT

Mark joined us as a VAT consultant in 2016 from HMRC where he was a Higher VAT Compliance Officer with 12 years’ experience, providing expert advice across multi-disciplined tax teams and specialising in cross-tax investigations. He has since risen through the ranks and is now a partner at PKF Francis Clark.

Mark has a deep understanding of the law and practical implementation of it across all areas of VAT. His previous role allows him to take a well measured approach to providing clear VAT advice as well as the confidence and authority to deal with all departments within HMRC.

Since joining the firm Mark has utilised his extensive knowledge to secure fantastic outcomes across a range of highly complex VAT and multi-tax investigations, even when others may have ‘thrown in the towel’.

VAT can be complex and often mystifying, so Mark’s ability to communicate complicated issues in an understandable fashion helps our clients plot their course through any potential issue.

As well as assisting clients with HMRC enquiries, Mark has a particular interest in the marine, land and property, motoring, food and drink, tourism and leisure and retail sectors.
When advising clients he is driven to ensure that the treatment is right and then works with our clients to make things better.
