Welcome to our latest accountancy and tax trainees

We’re delighted to welcome our latest cohort of apprentices to PKF Francis Clark, as they begin their journey in accountancy and tax across our offices in the South and South West.

Joining us from school, college or university – or after choosing to change careers – our new trainees are embarking on professional training programmes that combine on-the-job learning with study towards industry-recognised qualifications. Whether they’re working towards Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) or Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualifications, each apprentice is earning while they learn valuable skills to make a positive impact for our clients.

New trainees from our offices in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Poole, Salisbury, Taunton, Torquay and Truro had a chance to get to know each other and learn more about our culture when they got together for a two-day induction programme at the University of Exeter. They included some who have joined us on 12-month placements as part of their university courses.

Their arrival comes after more recognition for our focus on creating a supportive and rewarding workplace. Earlier this year, PKF Francis Clark was ranked 20th in the UK’s Best Large Workplaces by Great Place to Work – the highest position of any accountancy firm. We also feature on several specialist lists, including the Best Workplaces for Women – where we’re ranked sixth out of 100 large employers – as well as the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing and Development.

We’re equally proud to have been named among the Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in the UK for the second year running. This accolade recognises our commitment to growing talent and the success rates of our apprentices.

Lucinda Coleman, chair of the firm’s board and our head of restructuring, knows exactly what it’s like to start out as a trainee at PKF Francis Clark. She said: “It’s always a pleasure to welcome our new apprentices, especially because I started my own career here as a trainee. Since then, at every stage I’ve been supported to achieve my ambitions.

“I know how transformative those early years can be, when you’re starting out on your journey of learning and professional growth, which never stops. Our apprentices bring fresh perspectives, energy and ambition – and we’re committed to helping them thrive. I look forward to seeing them develop and progress in the years ahead.”

To all our new apprentices: welcome to the team. We’re excited to see what you’ll achieve.
