PKF Francis Clark has strengthened its tax team with the appointment of experienced corporate tax director Jamie Preston.

Based in Exeter, he brings over 25 years’ experience in corporate taxes gained during his career with EY and, more recently, Grant Thornton.

A former professional footballer for Chesterfield, Jamie trained as an accountant after his sporting career was cut short by injury in the 1990s. He now advises businesses across a range of sectors, including large national and international groups, on both domestic and international financial reporting and tax compliance obligations, as well as dealing with corporate group expansion planning and reorganisation projects.

He said: “I’m looking forward to developing lasting relationships with clients and colleagues and sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained over many years working in tax to make a real difference for our clients.

“I believe in enjoying your work and doing it with a smile on your face. Everyone I know who has joined PKF Francis Clark has said it’s a great place to work and I’ve been really impressed by the camaraderie and inclusive culture within the team. There’s a lot of interesting, complex work going on here and I’m excited by the opportunity to be involved in developing the tax team and growing our corporate offering.”

PKF Francis Clark’s head of tax, John Endacott, said: “Jamie is an excellent addition to our tax team and his wealth of experience will be of great benefit to our clients, from owner-managed businesses to larger corporate groups with international operations. We’re delighted he has joined us, and I’m sure he will play a key role in helping to develop and support our growing corporate tax team.”

Outside work, Jamie enjoys walking on Dartmoor, wild swimming and watching local football and rugby.
