FireText Communications sold to Norwegian buyer

Cornwall-based text message marketing specialist FireText Communications has been acquired by LINK Mobility, a global mobile messaging and communications platform provider.

Headquartered in Falmouth, FireText offers a proprietary SMS marketing platform. Founded by James Huff and Dan Parker in 2007, the business has sent over seven billion messages for approximately 2,700 customers, including the NHS and the UK government.

LINK is headquartered in Norway and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. This strategic acquisition significantly enhances its presence in the UK market, particularly within the public sector, and adds a scalable and robust self-sign-up platform to LINK’s portfolio.

PKF Francis Clark advised the vendors on this transaction. Corporate finance director Dave Armstrong said: “Having met Dan 15 years ago, it has been very interesting watching how the business has developed and grown during this period. It is a leader in the SMS market in terms of its technology and commercial offering whilst at the same time remaining loyal to its underlying principles of culture and creating a team with passion, energy and determination.”

Corporate finance manager Isaac Moore added: “Being part of LINK will provide further opportunities for FireText’s customers and staff. We are excited to see where the business will go as part of the wider LINK Mobility Group and wish the team every success.”

FireText founder Dan Parker praised the PKF Francis Clark team, commenting: “Throughout the acquisition process, we had the privilege of working with Dave and Isaac. They worked tirelessly to ensure every financial detail was accounted for, and their responsiveness at every critical juncture made a complex transaction feel seamless. Their dedication was instrumental to our success.”
