We're one of the UK's Best Workplaces for Development

PKF Francis Clark has been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development 2024 by Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture.

We’re ranked 30th out of 100 large organisations in the new list, which recognises companies making employee development a key part of their culture.

It comes after our learning and development team launched a comprehensive leadership development suite to nurture and empower leaders at all levels. More than 100 managers have so far completed our internal leadership programmes, which are being rolled out to all our managers.

Meanwhile, more than 250 colleagues are currently studying for professional qualifications, including 220 apprentices.

Amy Taylor, chief people officer at PKF Francis Clark, said: “Supporting our people to develop and progress in their careers is a priority for us, so we’re proud to be ranked among the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development. Many of our current directors and partners joined the firm as trainees and have progressed through the ranks into leadership roles, where they are now helping to develop the next generation of accountants and tax advisors.”

I feel that my leader is someone who genuinely cares about me and my progression.

To compile the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development list, Great Place to Work reviewed each company’s culture, benefits and approach to leadership and development, alongside anonymous responses from employees.

Comments from PKF Francis Clark colleagues in our latest external Great Place to Work survey included: “The support we receive to develop in our roles is really reassuring. I feel that my leader is someone who genuinely cares about me and my progression.”

Another said: “They recently placed me on a leadership training programme, which I think clearly demonstrates a commitment to those like myself who are perhaps in the latter years of their working career. It is refreshing and the programme has helped me develop my team further.”

The confidential survey also found 90% of PKF Francis Clark colleagues said they were offered training or development to further themselves professionally.

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work UK, said: “Employee training and development isn’t just about teaching employees to do their jobs. It’s about showing employees they are valued and that there is a path of progression available.

“Each year, we recognise organisations whose thriving workplace cultures are enabling both their people and their business to flourish. Opportunities for learning and development are a crucial element of this success, which is why we’re so thrilled to be recognising this year – for the very first time – the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development.”
