Anne Gardner-Thorpe
Senior manager, tax

Anne specialises in proactive tax planning and compliance for businesses, balancing practical and commercial drivers with tax constraints.
Anne initially specialised in corporate tax at a big four firm, working with a wide range of clients from international large groups to local authorities. She then completed the FT HMRC inspector training. This gave Anne valuable insight and practical experience into how HMRC operate, interpret legislation and work and negotiate with businesses and individuals. This background is invaluable when advising clients and communicating with HMRC.
She has a particular interest in enquiry work and interactions with HMRC. Whether that’s drafting clearances and claims, or negotiating with HMRC in full or aspect enquiries.
For the past 17 years, Anne has focused on capital taxes planning, advising on complex trusts, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, remuneration planning, employee incentives, and tax-efficient business exits.
