Jim Suswain

Manager, VAT and customs

Jim is a member of PKF Francis Clark’s respected VAT team offering indirect tax guidance and support to both clients and colleagues.

Having completed his VAT compliance diploma Jim has worked across a number of areas of VAT, assisting clients with error correction notices, partial exemption calculations, opting to tax land and assisting with the tax and duty challenges of trading in Europe post Brexit.

As a member of the VAT marine team Jim is developing his knowledge of this sector helping clients to understand the sometimes complex tax and duty requirements that must be met when purchasing yachts internationally.

Prior to joining PKF Francis Clark in 2019 Jim has enjoyed careers in television advertising, web development and has run his own (VAT registered) business – the latter giving him an insight into the client’s view of accountancy and taxation!

Alongside his work in the VAT team Jim is currently studying to become a Chartered Accountant, has a degree in journalism, film and broadcasting and a diploma in web design.

When not working and studying Jim likes to enjoy the outdoors with his family and dogs, play sports, watch movies and talk too much about the latter two!
