Tom Beable

Tom is a partner with over 20 years’ experience in audit, working with a wide range of owner-managed and corporate businesses. He has a particular focus on organisations with external investment, including private equity–backed companies, overseas-owned groups and businesses listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Tom has a strong technical background and a deep understanding of both IFRS and UK GAAP. He regularly supports clients and investors in navigating complex accounting matters, particularly in relation to acquisitions and disposals, helping them clearly understand the implications for financial reporting.

Earlier in his career, Tom spent time working in industry, giving him valuable insight into the challenges faced by finance teams and senior management. This experience shapes his approach to audit, with a strong emphasis on adding value rather than treating audit purely as a compliance exercise. He frequently presents audit findings to audit committees and management teams, delivering clear, practical insights.

Tom also has significant experience of group audits, having worked extensively with businesses with overseas operations. He regularly acts as both group auditor and component auditor, issuing and responding to group audit instructions across complex international structures.

With a keen interest in the use of technology and artificial intelligence in audit, Tom actively monitors emerging developments and assesses how they can improve audit quality and efficiency.

Tom values close, collaborative relationships with his clients and provides ongoing support throughout the year, helping to ensure a smooth audit process and avoiding surprises at year end.
