Youcef Toumi

Director, tax

Youcef Toumi joined PKF Francis Clark as tax director from a top 5 firm in 2024.

As part of the international private client team, he advises individuals on coming to and leaving the UK, non-UK domiciled individuals and offshore trustees.

For non-UK domiciled individuals, he advises on issues such as remittance basis and offshore trust planning along with providing advice to offshore trustees and UK resident beneficiaries of non-UK resident trusts. He also has experience in advising alternative investors including private equity executives on carried interest and co-investment interests, UK investor reporting as well as advising on alternative investment structures.

He loves collaborating with colleagues and third-party professionals to navigate clients through complex multi-jurisdictional tax issues.

Youcef has won a firm wide national award for exceptional client service in 2018 involving the dual handling role in tax disputes and international private client. In addition, he has been recognised with numerous firm awards for delivering exceptional client service, resolving complex tax advisory issues, and settling long running tax disputes with HMRC. This includes resolving civil investigations carried out by HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service under Codes of Practice 8 (bespoke planning or suspected avoidance) and 9 (suspected tax fraud).

He was also shortlisted for the Rising Star award at Tolley’s Taxation awards in 2019 due to his work in the private equity and tax dispute resolution fields.

He describes his greatest personal achievement was becoming a father in 2022, along with completing the Ten Tors Gold Challenge. The Ten Tors event involves hiking and navigating unaided over a course of 55 miles on Dartmoor. He has run half marathons across the UK, in Nottingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Hastings and also completed a number of long distance obstacle courses.

He has travelled the length of Sri Lanka exclusively via a tuktuk and enjoys paddle boarding adventures with his son starting him young from 3 weeks old. He also loves windsurfing, rowing, cycling and mountain biking. He enjoys adventures with his wife and son and is partial to a spot of gardening and growing his own fruit, vegetables and many weeds.
