Congratulations to our newly promoted directors

Four newly promoted directors are starting the next chapter in their PKF Francis Clark careers, strengthening our leadership team across tax, audit and assurance, corporate finance and business advisory.

The promotions represent a mix of homegrown talent and more recent recruits, spanning offices in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

Making the step up to director are Richard Drewitt (audit and assurance, Poole), James Thomas (business advisory, Torquay), Nick Crandon (tax, Truro and Plymouth) and Angus Hunter (corporate finance, Exeter).

Richard has played a key role in regional audit delivery and systems development since joining PKF Francis Clark in 2008 as a graduate trainee. He said: “Having trained with the firm, it’s a proud moment to be promoted to director. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop our audit offering and supporting our teams and clients across the region.”

James also trained with the firm and now advises owner-managed businesses on achieving their growth ambitions. He said: “From joining in 2017 as an ACA trainee to becoming a director, I’ve benefited from a wealth of support and opportunities. I’m excited to continue working with owner-managed businesses and helping them achieve their long-term goals.”

Nick specialises in business tax, having worked in London before relocating to Cornwall in 2024. He said: “PKF Francis Clark has given me the opportunity to build a challenging and rewarding career in tax while living and working in Cornwall. I’m excited to take on this new role and continue supporting clients with the complex challenges they face.”

Angus joined PKF Francis Clark three years ago to pursue his passion for renewable energy finance, after roles at a Big Four accountancy firm and in asset management. He said: “The firm’s culture and reputation for corporate finance expertise made it an easy decision to join, and I’m delighted to step up to director. The renewable energy sector is evolving rapidly, and I look forward to helping clients capitalise on the opportunities ahead.”

PKF Francis Clark was recently ranked 12th among the UK’s Best Large Workplaces for Development, reflecting our investment in training, mentoring and career progression. We were also named Best Employer in Tax at this year’s Tolley’s Taxation Awards.

CEO Paul Crocker said: “These promotions recognise four colleagues who have made a significant contribution to the firm and our clients. Angus, James, Nick and Richard bring a great mix of technical expertise, commercial insight and leadership, and I’m delighted to see them take this next step in their careers.

“Developing our people is central to our long-term success. It’s particularly rewarding to support former trainees in progressing through the firm while also attracting talented professionals who have gained experience elsewhere.”

With more than 950 people across nine offices, we’re continuing to grow by developing our people and supporting clients across the South West and beyond.
