Deal alert: Supporting Connected ID on sale to US buyer

Mergers and acquisitions specialists at PKF Francis Clark advised the shareholders of Connected ID on the successful sale of the company to Levata, a global leader in enterprise mobility, barcoding and access control solutions.

Connected ID, headquartered in Corsham and Leicester, is renowned for its cutting-edge handheld devices, mobile computing and wireless network solutions. The acquisition by American group Levata brings together Connected ID and Stockport-based Digital ID, combining expertise in identity, authentication and data capture technologies.

Founded in 2014, Connected ID has been advised on its growth journey by Simon Weston, a director at PKF Francis Clark’s Bristol office.

Following an approach from Levata, they turned to corporate finance and tax specialists at PKF Francis Clark to provide comprehensive support to the shareholders of Connected ID throughout the transaction process. Lead advisers Will Sargent and Tom Hicks negotiated the terms of the deal, as well as supporting with due diligence and working closely with legal advisers to ensure a smooth completion. Partner Nicola Manclark provided tax advice.

Jamie Dickinson, managing director of Connected ID, said: “Will and Tom were fantastic to work with. Their expertise and dedication were evident from day one. They were always at the end of the phone, ready to provide invaluable advice and support, and worked with a desire to get the best possible outcome. I was glad to have them to rely on during the sale of the Connected ID and couldn’t ask for better advisers.”

Tom Hicks, corporate finance associate director at PKF Francis Clark, said: “Having worked closely with Jamie and the team for a number of years, it has been great to watch the business grow and we’re delighted to have advised on their sale to Digital ID. It will be exciting to see what Connected ID and Digital ID can achieve together across Europe in the coming years.”

On the acquisition, Jamie added: “From the start, it was clear that Levata and Connected ID share a commitment to innovation and customer success. This acquisition strengthens our solutions, expands our market presence, and enhances the overall customer experience. I’m excited to be part of this next chapter and look forward to driving new growth and opportunities together.”

Daniel Nettesheim, CEO of Levata, said: “Bringing Connected ID into the Levata family rapidly expands our capabilities in the UK and Europe. This is another example of Levata continuing to invest in our networking, network security, data capture, and enterprise mobility capabilities, ensuring we provide world-class solutions for our customers.”
