Celebrating long-serving colleagues in Truro
Eleven long-serving colleagues from our Truro office have celebrated a combined 240 years with PKF Francis Clark.
Cornwall-based professionals who have recently marked 10, 20, 30 or 40 years with the firm had a chance to share stories over lunch at Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes as they marked their career milestones.
They included Sharon Hooper and Jackie Leigh, who have been with the firm for 40 years, and Andrew Dungey, who is marking 30 years. Ian Hughes, Nick Barnes, Nick Rowarth and Kim Medlin were celebrating 20 years, while Amy Woosnam, Edward Hands and James Basher have clocked up a decade of service.
Partner Brian Harvey, another of those marking 20 years’ service, said: “Each year we host a lunch for colleagues who have been with the firm for a multiple of 10 years. It’s an opportunity to thank them for their dedicated service and celebrate their fantastic achievements.
“There’s a great camaraderie among our team, which is reflected in the fact that people choose to stay so long.”
Most of those present previously worked for Winter Rule, which merged with PKF Francis Clark in 2011.
Sharon Hooper, a senior in the professional practices team, said: “I’ve done various roles in the time I’ve been here. This was my first full-time job and I’ve never wanted to work anywhere else because I enjoy my work and the culture here is friendly and down-to-earth. We all get along really well, so it was lovely to celebrate with fellow long-serving colleagues.
“I’ve seen a lot of change over the years – from the technology we use to new offices and the growth of the team in Truro, from 30 people when I started to around 150 today. I think the reason I’ve been so loyal is because the firm looks after its people.”
